The videos are documented by three different grassroots media channels operating in Aleppo. The first is the Aleppo Media Center , an anti-government network of journalists, supposedly funded by the French Government and Syrian expatriates. The second is Halab New Network, a second anti-government network of journalists affiliated with al-Qassam brigade, a rebel group working in Eastern Aleppo. The third is Syria Civil Defense, a network of civil society activists that help rescue civilians in the aftermath of barrel bombs. Syria Civil Defense, known as White Helmets, is funded by several Western governments, and has been controversial in a number of articles written online. They keep an extensive YouTube record of all of their work. The videos are shot from different angles by different cameras, and they allow you to see exactly how civilians are pulled from underneath the rubble following barrel bomb attacks.
